ROCKWOOL has launched HARDROCK UB34, which is an insulation solution designed for parapet and flat roof columns, which is non-flammable in the event of a fire.

The company stated that UB34 provides a strong, thermally efficient vertical insulation panel that will not burn in the event of a fire. The system combines a 50 mm thick rock wool thermal insulation board with a rigid 6 mm fiber cement board, which has impact resistance and weather resistance.

Due to its rock wool core, HARDROCK UB34 has been fully tested and classified as Euroclass A2-s1, d0. This means that the product is suitable for buildings over 18 meters affected by the ban on combustible materials.

"UB34 helps code makers and contractors reduce the risk of fire by providing durable, non-combustible insulation solutions that comply with the latest guidelines for buildings over 18m," said Will Wigfield, product manager for building envelopes in ROCKWOOL, UK. "Specially designed solution, easy to install-its rock wool core provides excellent thermal performance."

HARDROCK UB34 is made of cement board and ROCKWOOL rock wool insulation board, and its thermal conductivity is 0.034W/mK to reduce thermal bridging. The panel is compatible with a range of flat roof systems, including single-layer and inverted.

HARDROCK UB34 is the latest member of ROCKWOOL’s HARDROCK flat roof insulation solution series. For more information, please visit Rockwool website: www.rockwool.com/uk/flat-roof-hub
