Dharamshala gets projects worth ₹195-cr under Smart City Mission - Hindustan Times

Projects worth ₹ 195 crore for the city, including walkways, nature parks and a city convention centre were given a go-ahead by the state government under the Smart City Mission.

The same was approved during the 20th meeting of the Dharamshala Smart City board of directors .

After presiding over the meeting, chief secretary RD Dhiman said the board approved ₹ 101.63 crore project of underground cabling of HT, conversion of existing LT bare cable to AB cable and compressed transformers.

The board also approved Integrated Command and Control Centre to be enhanced through a project on supplying, installation, testing, commissioning of data centre, city surveillance and laying of city fibre network with operation and maintenance for five years at Dharamshala at the cost of ₹ 35 crore.

Dharamshala Smart City is also set to have its own city Convention Centre at Kachahari Adda. The centre would be built at a cost of ₹ 6.68 crore.

Besides, approvals were given to various infrastructure projects which included walkways, inclusive roads, nature parks, solar rooftop power plants and smart libraries at a cumulative cost of ₹ 52 crore.

MBA graduate arrested in Delhi for running fraud ticket website, duped 90

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a scammer for running a website to dupe people. The accused, identified as Aviral Rawal, is an MBA-graduate and so far, defrauded at least 90 people. A resident of the Dwarka area in the national capital, Rawal was running a fake website that claimed to book tickets for travel - air and railways - online.

In Arpita's bank accounts, ED finds ₹ 2 crore; process on to freeze them  

The problem for suspended Trinamool Congress leader Partha Chatterjee's associate Arpita Mukherjee is far from over as the Enforcement Directorate has begun the process of freezing at least her three bank accounts, where they have found at least Rs 2 crore, news agency PTI reported citing a senior official. Reportedly, bank accounts belonging to several "shell companies" of Mukherjee are also under the ED scanner.

Conman dupes 5-star hotel executive of ₹ 22 lakh, arrested

Mumbai: A 48-year-old man was arrested for allegedly duping a sales manager of a five-star hotel, located near Mumbai airport of around ₹22 lakh. She accordingly sent her brother to go and meet Vasan. The victim's brother waited there for a while but as Vasan did not return, he tried calling his number and found it switched off. Jain then approached the Vile Parle police and filed a complaint.

Major Bengal cabinet, TMC organisational reshuffle in offing: Report

The TMC is likely to go in for a major organisational overhaul as well as a reshuffle of the state cabinet following the arrest of now-suspended senior party leader Partha Chatterjee in a multi-crore school jobs scam. On Thursday, Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee had indicated that a cabinet reshuffle will take place shortly. Chatterjee was in charge of five key ministries, including industry, commerce and enterprises and parliamentary affairs.
